Love this place! Finally! Real Italian food! Huge portions, excellent home made bread! You will never leave there hungry! Think I'm going tonight again! YUMMY!

The best real Italian food! My fav. is sausage pepper vino! My wife had chicken marsala that I wanted to steal off her plate it looked and smelled so good. You get way too much food! So it is kind of like going for carry out and having a glass of wine, some awesome fresh bread and a taste of your entre, then taking enough home for another two meals! Friendly, very good service too! Really 5 stars by any standards!

One of the best Italian restaurants anywhere in Kenosha - and there are a lot of those around here. It is worth the drive to Silver Lake if you are not close. The food is made there and I believe their red sauce is one of the best in the area. Their cream sauce is out of this world - a treat worth the drive. We have not had their pizza very much as we prefer their food (raviolis, lasagna and spaghetti) to their pizza. The meatball bombers are also great. We have never been disappointed while eating there or getting take out. Great staff and the owners are almost always on site.

Loved it - very small place, very big portions. Food was excellent and everyone was super friendly - I would love to return.

We eat here quite often and have for the past 12 years. Amazing home made Italian food. Delicious Alfredo and chicken parm.

I make a pilgrimage here every Fall (without fail) since....well... what feels like forever. Their lasagna and eggplant/chicken parm rivals some of my favorites here in Chicago. A cozy (teeny- tiny) joint with plastic grapes, sponge-painted aged walls and small clusters of candlelit tables. Oh, you cheezy monkey! Formerly a bank, the open vault door now leads to a bustling station for bussing tables. The fare: Freakishly fresh: The staff: Positively delightful. I've shared many belly-bustin' meals with the closest of friends here...and even though it's always a tight squeeze, Binanti's will forever be one of my absolute favorites: A pleasant, mellow little slice of the Universe where my boisterous laughter is greeted with contagious smiles...then promptly silenced with noms of warm, crusted bread. They have hearty Italian cooking down SO well...in the middle of this quiet, lakeside town....that I am utterly convinced somehow the witness protection program was involved at some juncture.

Unique and fabulous. Home made bread melts in your mouth. Portions are huge and delicious! Will come back again!

Interesting location inside an old bank, with the kitchen inside the vault. Food is fresh and comes in huge portions. The calamari was in massive tasty pieces with actual flavor, instead of the minuscule bits of bread encrusted squid at most places. It's definitely a casual, family style place (at least when I went) but that's not a downside in my view.

I have dreams of Binanti's at night and I wake up eating my pillow... jk, but I love this place, have yet to have a dish I did not like. Even the more obscure and new dishes I never have tired or hated at other places they have a very special twist on. If eating really has an emmotional response, I'm in love with this place... Some of the best pizza hands down I have ever had. Sauces are outstanding. If you are reading this, you need to try it.

Who would have thought I could find really good Italian food in Silver Lake, Wisconsin!!! This place is a gem just hidden in the back roads. We last ate here about 6 years ago and we had a really good meal. The other day we were wondering why we never went back..oh yeah having a baby! So we recently ate here again and had a great meal. The fresh flavors of the food really jump out with every bite. The homemade lasagna was very good, I'm so glad I ordered it. Also had the Meatball sandwich too. The meatballs were incredible...they were so juicy and tasty. Three huge meatballs come on the sandwich and it is a meal itself. I highly recommend it. We just read a story in the newspaper about the owner coming from Italy. He started working in a restaurant in Milan at age 12. Now I know why the food is so good...years of learning from the experts. They also bake their bread here...when you walk into the restaurant you are hit with the fresh smells of bread. Again this place is a hidden gem and I recommend that you stop by for a great dinner!

Best calzones around. I don't usually dine, but they are quick and friendly.the atmosphere is dark, calming, and everything an Italian ristorante should be!

What a great little gem in a small town near the border of Wisconsin. A bank converted into a restaurant, it's not a big place but make for a very intimate setting and a nice atmosphere. The food was awesome. They start you off with nice warm bread and keep it coming until the entrée arrives. Their portion sizes are huge, I literally ate leftovers for about 4 more meals! Drinks were delicious too. We had a bottle of Pinot Grigio to start and then later I had a glass of the house Chianti to compliment my dish. Both wines were very good. The service was excellent, our waitress was very friendly and patient as we weren't in a hurry and took a long time to decide on our meal. Never felt rushed and she didn't bat an eye as we made her repeat the specials a few times. I will definitely be back here and recommend that you stop by if you are anywhere even remotely close, you won't be disappointed!

We've been to Binanti's several times and have never been disappointed. What many of the other reviewers have said about the bread and the huge portions is true. The restaurant is small, but if you have a group of 6 or more, you can call ahead and make a reservation. On one occasion they were sweet enough to make an exception and let us make a reservation for 4 because my friend's mother was 93 years old. If you have the good fortune of being served by Silvia, your experience will be even that much more special.

What could of have been an amazing hidden Silver Lake gem...wasn't. Keep on trucking down 50 and pass it up. Out of brushetta, sangria, braceola and then had us wait until our shrimp was defrosted. But if you want a real special occasion...impress the in laws type...ask to sit in the vault - NOT. Basically a dark closet in the back. Sad it didn't work out but would rather drive the extra hour back to Chicago.

I have eaten here at least 12 times in 6 years, the service and food has always been excellent.. The food is phenomenal with large portions, always fresh bread and the best Gnocci's I have ever had. The Tortellini Del Mar and stuffed Flank Steak are excellent and enough for the next day. Basic Pasta dishes are very affordable. Ask about the dinner specials. Canned sauces and purchased pizza dough - No way !! Look in the kitchen. On summer weekends it can be quite busy but they also have outside service on their patio weekends. What are your other options for Italian near Silver Lake WI? psst - there aren't any, Maybe a 10 - 12 miles to Harvard IL. This certainly isn't Olive Garden. Carryouts YES. Catering - Maybe not.

Super good alfredo sauce, my mom and I decided to split an order of the pasta carbonara and it was huge. Even split in half, neither of us could finish our food. My boyfriend ordered some tortellini with shrimp and scallops in a cream sauce and it was tasty. The scallops were so sweet and cooked perfectly. My mom's friend knows the people who own this restaurant and they are really nice people. I would recommend the spaghetti too, the marinara sauce is excellent. My only complaint is that the restaurant is really small so if you have a large group, seating them would be really difficult.

I would recommend this place for their food, but as far as service or catering it is best to look elsewhere. When I was planning an important event. The owners charged for everything (delivery of equipment) when we picked it up. They make you feel as if you are being cheap, when you want what is right. This was a huge hassle. A sensitivity chip is missing, and when planning an important event it is nice to work with a stand up business.

Food is excellent -- we have been here twice and both times it was great. Try in particular the veal marsala. Also, their house Chianti is a good value, and delicious -- smooth, not sharp like some. Service is fast and friendly, atmosphere relaxed. We came at 7:45 on a Saturday and there were three tables available. We will definitely return here. Might bring friends too, although with a no reservation policy and pretty small dining area, that might mean chilling out with some wine while we wait.

The food here is excellent! The fact one of the kitchens is in an old bank safe is cool too! We have dined here a number of times and enjoyed every experience. As another poster mentioned the only down side is the dining room size. If you plan to go with more than a few people be sure to call ahead to make sure space is available.

Overall, an average dinner. Server was friendly. Restaurant isn't very modern or as clean as I like. Would go back, but wouldn't make a special trip for it.

Food is great and that's where it ends. the service is horrible and this was dealing with the owners daughter. talk about rude, has NO IDEA how to treat a customer. I called in to let them know about an order they messed up, got zero help and what brings me here is that she never even said sorry or offered to fix it. This is sad, I'm sure her parents have not even heard about this. I gave her my name and number to have them call me about it. nothing, nadda, zip, zilch!!!

  • Nicholas M.

Okay, where to start on this. It's over priced for the quality of food. The bread sticks are left on a tray over night. The alfredo sauce is very dull. The service is okay, defiantly not the friendliest. Deliveries are really quick. They're not open for lunch!!! The pizza sauce is out of a can, the dough isn't even homemade. The place is really tiny so don't think of bringing a group here. It's alright, nothing to really brag about.

Beyond fantastic!! We get delivery all the time w/friendly service...try the Fried Calamari..,,gorgeous golden brown & so tender practically melts in your mouth...the fried mushrooms are never watery when you take a bite & jalapeño poppers are awesome!! We keep ordering our fav pizzas because they make it so great we're hooked..pizza w/spinach, sausage & bell pepper....trust us it's nom-tastic! Also get pepperoni, pineapple & bacon...omg to die! Wouldn't think of delivery from anyplace else...bought a house here bit over a year ago & they have lifelong customers!! =)

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
